In Autumn 2007, Alpha courses are being run as follows:

Wednesday evenings from September 26th - Church on the Heath (contact David Price on 695067)

Thursday evenings from October 4th - All Saints Parish (contact Mary Goodson on 676505)

Thursday evenings from October 4th - Kings Church (contact Pam Robertson on 674788)

What is Alpha?

Alpha could not be easier. For about 10 weeks you get together on one day in the week for a light meal followed by a talk (often on DVD or video) about Christianity. After the talk there is tea or coffee and the chance to ask questions and express your own opinions (or not if you prefer - it is up to you).

Then about half way through the course there is a weekend together which gives an opportunity to share more together. And that is all there is to it - it is as simple as that. No pressure, no hidden agenda, just the chance to find out for yourself what Christianity can mean for you, and the opportunity - if you choose - to take things further. Most Alpha-goers are as new to all this as you are, so you will not feel out of place.

Who is Alpha For?

Thousands of people from all walks of life attend an Alpha course every year. Some come out of curiosity, some are looking for a new purpose in life, some come just to have an argument!

Many value the friendships they build up during the course, and carry on meeting socially even when the course ends. Many finish the course with new insights into some of the big questions of life: Where did we come from? Why are we here? Where are we heading? Many others discover God in a personal way for the first time - and it changes their lives for ever.

Whatever your reasons for coming along, why not give Alpha a try? You have nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain.

Prayer

The foundation of the Alpha Course is prayer - please continue to pray in your Churches and individual prayer time for Alpha and for the opportunities it presents to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in this Country and the World. "So they signalled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them and they came and filled both boats" LUKE 5:7.
