Christ Church is the Anglican parish church for the parish of Crookham - a busy residential parish of some 15000 people, comprising the area of Fleet to the south of the Basingstoke Canal, all of Church Crookham, and Crookham Village.

The church was built in 1841 to serve the growing population of the area at that time. It is the oldest church in the locality, and is a real gem of Victorian architecture and art.

Sunday worship attracts a large - and diverse - congregation. It is based around the Eucharist, and we enjoy good liturgy, music and preaching. Traditional worship is complemented with monthly sung Matins, whilst the Family Eucharist on the 3rd Sunday of each month offers a more contemporary style, as do occasional evening services.

Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals also form a significant part of our ministry to the parish.

We seek to promote the relevance and challenge of the Gospel - the `good news of Jesus Christ’ - to the whole community. This is undertaken through strong links to local schools (especially our church-aided Crookham Infant School), and through many other organisations, including Playgroup, Parent and Toddler group, Brownies, Art Classes, a self-help group, Wives Group and Mothers Union.

For young people, a very active Sunday School and Crèche take place during worship. Singing is led by youngsters in the choir, and we have an instrumental band for the Family Eucharist. A Youth Club meets weekly and is very popular, whilst for adults our Thursday `Chat Café’ offers the opportunity to chat over tea or coffee about every subject under the sun.

Whether you are a visitor, a newcomer to the area, or an established resident, we invite you to `Come, and See’: we assure you that you will be most welcome.

Fleet Baptist is a ’mainstream evangelical’ church of around 250 people. Our congregation reflects a wide range of backgrounds, ages and experiences, and together we work under God to fulfil our mission, which is "Helping others in Fleet and beyond to know and show the love of God in Jesus."

We believe we are all called to deepen the ways in which we encounter God personally, and make God known in practical ways by serving our community.

Our worship is relaxed and informal as we seek to be open to the Holy Spirit in proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ. We use mainly contemporary songs, but also include traditional hymns, and our music is usually led by one of our worship bands.

You are always welcome at The Church on the Heath.

The Church on the Heath was established in 2000 as the first residents moved into the new development at Elvetham Heath. Churches Together in Fleet and Crookham formed a partnership of 4 denominations to plant the new church, gathering a starting congregation of 25 people and hiring a Minister. The regular congregation has grown to over 150, who are active in sharing the good news of Jesus and serving the emerging community at Elvetham Heath in a variety of ways.

Sunday services are held at 10am and 7.30pm in the new church building which opened in December 2006. The morning service is based around a pattern of Family Service, Morning Praise and Holy Communion, while the evening service pattern includes Contemporary Praise, Bible Hour, Café Church, Holy Communion and Reflective Prayer.

Weekday Activities: Alpha (courses starting in January and September each year) A relaxed and informal introduction to the Christian faith. Bring your questions - none is too simple or to hostile. House Groups meet for discussion, Bible study, prayer and support at houses across Elvetham Heath throughout the week. A monthly Prayer Night is held at the church. ’Time Out’ Youth Group meets on Sunday mornings, and the group also enjoys outside activities including Laser Quest, donutting etc. Other activities include aToddler Praise Service, a monthly lunch, and a Parent & Toddler Group. The church coffee bar is open to all Monday to Saturday mornings.

The present church building dates from 1972 when the churches in Reading Road South and Fleet Road joined to worship together.

As Methodists we worship in a variety of ways valuing the traditional and the creative. We attach great importance to the singing of hymns, not only because of the music, but because the words express our faith. We expect our worship to provoke thought about the relevance of bible teaching to our everyday lives. We are blessed musically by an excellent choir, a number of organists and also a Music Group. Apart from the standard range of groups that an established church has, which cater for people of all ages, we run an active Junior Church and Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade companies and a Pre-School.

We are currently in the process of installing computer and projection equipment which we hope will add another dimension to all our worship.

As our name implies, part of our vision is to be a family, especially to those who are vulnerable, hurt, unloved or rejected in our communities.

We meet as a church family together on Sundays at Velmead Junior School and through the week in our homes in small groups to enjoy and develop our relationship with God, to build friendships, to deal with the tough issues of modern living, and to help the communities where we live and work. We run regular activities with both children and with elderly people.

We are part of Newfrontiers (an international family of churches, together on a mission, currently approaching 500 churches worldwide) and a member of the Evangelical Alliance.

The church and parish will reach its centenary in 2008. There are three buildings on the site; the most recent (1965) is the current church. The earlier buildings have been adapted into community and social facilities used by church and external groups. Shortly, within the Diocese of Portsmouth, we will become integrated into a larger pastoral area.

Parish life is centred on the Sunday Mass, enhanced and supported by formation: mothers and toddlers and children’s liturgy; sacramental programmes including parents; evangelisation and faith enquiry processes; prayer and other groups, some held in people’s homes; and social activities.

Weekdays we have worship at 9.30am, either Mass or Liturgy of the Word, and associated prayer groups which meet at varying times and in people’s homes. We are actively involved in ’Churches Together’.

Our premises are new and suitable for our needs. They are well used during the week, both by ourselves and the community. This includes Carer and Toddler Groups; Brownies and Rainbows; and University of the Third Age Groups.

Highlights for us include regular Bible Study and Prayer; monthly events for enjoying ourselves together and a weekly Coffee Morning on Thursdays which is open to and used by all.
